The International Environment Forum (IEF) is a Bahá'í-inspired non-governmental professional organization whose members from the Bahá'í Faith and the wider community promote the application of spiritual and ethical principles to the challenges of the environment and sustainable development. Founded in 1997, and now with over 300 members in 60 countries on five continents, the IEF maintains links with many more individuals and groups. The IEF was accredited by the United Nations to the World Summit on Sustainable Development (Johannesburg 2002) and the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20) in 2012 as a scientific and technological organization. Its has an elected Governing Board, with its General Secretary in Australia, and members presently in Canada, Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, UK, and USA.

The IEF is a virtual organization working largely over the Internet to build networks of interested people, contribute to UN dialogues, organize annual international conferences in different parts of the world, and take part in various international events. It publishes a monthly on-line newsletter, produces educational materials and courses, and maintains an active web presence.
IEF is a member of the Partnership for Education and Research about Responsible Living (PERL) and its successor UNITWIN network; collaborates closely with ebbf - Ethical Business Building the Future; co-sponsors the University of Geneva Certificate of Advanced Studies in Sustainable Development; participates in the Geneva Interfaith Forum on Climate Change, Environment and Human Rights; and cooperates in its conferences and activities with many other organizations.
