Elena Villalobos Prats is the Technical Officer of Climate Change and Health at the World Health Organization (WHO).

Elena Villalobos Prats is responsible for capacity development and country support for Climate Change and Health at the World Health Organization (WHO). A lawyer by training, she has extensive experience in managing NGO-related development projects, including gender topics, in Asia and South America. In her current position at the WHO, she is responsible for implementing and providing technical support in the WHO’s workplan on climate change and health-related topics in policies and public-health response to climate change, including the integration of a gender approach. Elena has developed guidance and training materials on gender, climate change and health and was also a contributing author to the 2016 Global Gender and Environment Outlook.

Elena holds a Master in Public Health (Environmental Health) from the University of London, and a Master in Gender and Equality from the Universitat Jaume I, and a Master in International Development and Humanitarian Aid from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. In 2017, she received the “Gender and Environment Advocate in Geneva” award.
