Philomena Joseph is a Team Assistant to the Scientific Support Branch of the Secretariat of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions.

Philomena works in the Scientific Support Branch of the Secretariat of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions. She assists with the organization of workshops and meetings and provides any other support, including sending letters to meeting participants, organizing staff and participants travel & distributing DSA. She also circulates official correspondence regarding projects and programmes of the Secretariat as appropriate and assists with inputting data on National Reporting into the report database. Provides Webinar logistics coordination and technical support for the Secretariat.

Philomena, a Swiss national of Indian origin, was educated at the University of Calcutta in Political Science, Economy and Psychology. She also has a diploma in Fashion Designing with Maggy Meyers Institute of Fashion Technology. Before joining the Secretariat of the Stockholm Convention in January 2008, Philomena worked with Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity, Home for the dying & destitutes and the Orphanage, based in Calcutta, India. She also has experience working with other UN organizations, the private sector, NGOs and the State Red Cross.
