1st Global Refugee forum

The first Global Refugee Forum is taking place in Geneva on 17 and 18 December 2019. It will serve as a space to share good practices, experiences, and lessons learned around common priority themes that will be identified with respect to specific country or regional situations, as well as on a global level. #RefugeeForum

Various events are targeting environmental-related issues.

Monday 16 December

  • Sustainable energy for food security and nutrition in refugee and host community settings (10.45-11.30)
  • Including all – new approaches to financing, resilience and sustainability for wash (11.30-13.00)
  • Too good to waste – converting waste to energy and compost for green-jobs (13.30-13.40 )

Tuesday 17 December

  • Sustainable energy & infrastructure in refugee contexts (12.50-13.00)
  • Green responses to refugee situations – urgent need for sustainable energy solutions (13.00–14.30)

 

SDG Lab: So What?

On Tuesday, the SDG Lab’s last “So What?” of 2019 will highlight country leadership in advancing the SDG and climate action agendas and feature the participation of high-level representatives from governments. The session will focus on the interlinkages between SDG 2 - Zero hunger, SDG 3 - Health and well-being and SDG 13, Climate action, under the theme of “Investing in People and Nature to accelerate the implementation of the SDGs”. #nutrition, good #health & the #ClimateCrisis

Spread the word: Health for All Film Festival

The World Health Organization is launching its first ever film festival on 16, 21 and 22 May 2020. The WHO Health for All Film Festival invites independent film-makers, production companies, NGOs, communities, students, and film schools from around the world to submit their original short films on health. The submissions can be on any health issue and/or social and environmental determinants of health for the first two categories (non-fiction and animation). Only films completed between 1 January 2017 and 30 January 2020 are eligible for the festival. Closing date for entries is 30 January 2020.
