What's Up in #GENeva this week?

Regular Session of the Human Rights Council

The 41st regular session of the Human Rights Council, starting this week in Geneva, will consider the High-Commissioner/UN Secretary-General reports on a number of thematic issues, including on gender-responsive climate action for the full and effective enjoyment of the rights of women. A Panel discussion on women’s rights and climate change will take place on 28 June at 16:00, and focus on good practices and lessons learned in the promotion and protection of the rights of women and girls in the context of the adverse impact of climate change.

A resolution on Human Rights and Climate Change will be presented at this session. (Bangladesh, Philippines, Viet Nam). Various side events will address climate and other environmental issues, such as the exposure to hazardous substances. Check the list of events below for details, links and venues. #HRC41

 

Wetlands of International Importance

Parties and Partners of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands, one of the biodiversity-related conventions, will gather in Gland this week to attend the 57th meeting of the Standing Committee.
