Carl Gustaf Lundin is the Principal Scientist for the Global Marine and Polar Programme at the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Prior to this, he was the Director of the Global Marine and Polar Programme, which he developed in four areas: global coastal issues, high seas, climate change/nature-based solutions and working with marine- and coastal-based industries.
Before joining IUCN, Carl worked with the World Bank for more than 12 years. His primary focus was coastal and marine management issues in several countries including Argentina, China, Eritrea, Indonesia, Mexico, Seychelles and Uruguay.
A native of Sweden, Carl holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Uppsala University and a licentiate in Philosophy and Natural Resources Management from Stockholm University.
