Claudia Assmann is a Programme Officer at the Resources and Markets Branch of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) where she leads the work on the green economy and green industrial policies. In this role, she provides policy analysis and advice on how to promote an economic transformation that is socially inclusive and respects planetary boundaries. Before joining the UNEP, she was an advisor on climate finance to governments and country offices for the German Development Cooperation. In previous roles with the World Bank and the UN system, she also specialized in climate change adaptation and climate-resilient development.
Claudia holds a master’s degree on International Economics and Environmental Policy from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, DC, USA.
