John Harding is the Head of Climate Risk and Early Warning Systems (CREWS) Secretariat at the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).

John Harding is the Head of Climate Risk and Early Warning Systems (CREWS) Secretariat at the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). Prior to joining the WHO, he worked in the United Nations for 18 years, serving as Political Advisor to the UN Special Envoy to Haiti, President William Jefferson Clinton, Head of UNDP’s Disaster Risk Reduction Unit in Haiti, and Advisor to the UN Resident Coordinator in Pakistan. He was also a Team Leader for the Global Facility for Disaster Risk Reduction (GFDRR) at the World Bank in Washington DC.

John holds a master’s degree in Hydrology and Hydrogeology from Birmingham University, UK, and a bachelors degree in Geology and Oceanography from the University of Southampton, UK.
