Paola Deda is the Director of Forest, Land and Housing Division at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).

Paola Deda joined the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) in 2008 and has worked in various roles such as Head of the Housing and Land Management Unit, Chief of the UNECE/FAO Forestry and Timber Section and, from 2020, Director of Forest, Housing and Land Management Unit.

Previously, Paola worked as a Research Assistant at the University of British Columbia and at the University of California-Berkeley. She worked in the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) from 2001 to 2008 in different duty stations such as Montreal, Geneva and Bonn. Her roles included Inter-Agency Liason Officer and Programme Officer.

Paola holds a master’s degree in Architecture from the Polytechnic of Milan and a Ph.D. in Land and Environmental Planning from the Polytechnic of Turin.
