Luca Dell'Oro is the Chief of the Disaster Risk Management and Climate Resilience Section of the United Nations Satellite Centre (UNOSAT).

Luca Dell’Oro has more than 15 years’ working experience in the United Nations. He currently hold the position of Senior Programme Specialist as Chief of the Disaster Risk Management and Climate Resilience Section of the United Nations Satellite Centre (UNOSAT) – United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR).

Since 2011, he has been a visiting lecturer at the University of Copenhagen as well as at the University of Geneva. He is also co-author of several publications in international journals relative to Geo‐Information Science and Earth Observation applications in disaster risk management.

Mr. Dell’Oro has graduated in 2001 from the University of Bologna (MSc. in Environmental Engineering) and he has also obtained a Professional Master’s Degree  in Geo‐Information Sciences and Earth Observation (awarded with Distinction) with specialization in Natural Hazard Studies (ITC, The Netherlands).
