Pierre Lacroix is the Head of the Spatial Data Infrastructure Unit of the UN Environmental Programme's (UNEP) Global Resource Information Database Geneva (GRID-Geneva).
Pierre Lacroix is a senior scientist working at UNEP/GRID-Geneva. He is managing the MapX program (mapx.org), which is supported by an open geospatial platform (app.mapx.org) for managing, analyzing and visualizing environmental data. He is alsosenior lecturer at University of Geneva in the Institute for Environmental Sciences, where he teaches geographic information systems (GIS), database management, programing, and spatial data infrastructure (SDI). In the past he has been working in the private and public sectors, in France and in Switzerland. His research interests are: environmental modeling ; transforming data into information and knowledge; and interface between science and policy.
