Yasmeen Awad

Yasmeen has recently graduated with a B.A in Sustainability and Sociology from the University of Exeter in 2025. She is hoping to pursue a Master’s degree at the Graduate Institute in Geneva in International Affairs and Development with a major in Environment and Sustainability. Yasmeen is particularly interested in the intersection of social and environmental issues and is passionate about issues of climate justice and inequality.

In 2023, as a part of her degree, Yasmeen undertook a 6 month internship at UNICEF in their private sector partnerships and fundraising division working in their climate team to support their engagements around COP28 and climate more generally. Working in partnerships and with her interdisciplinary studies, Yasmeen strongly believes collaboration and co-creation is crucial in tackling the grand environmental and social challenges we face.

As a GEN intern, Yasmeen organized events with key environmental actors in Geneva, bringing them together to engage on key environmental issues and is eager to learn from her team and experts in the field.
