CARE International’s Geneva-based Secretariat coordinates CARE’s global advocacy on humanitarian crises and issues across the confederation. The Geneva office, being located in the world’s humanitarian capital, influences peer agencies, the United Nations (UN), and UN Member States’ specialized delegations working on humanitarian response and refugee/migration issues world-wide.

The Geneva office works with CARE’s global membership and colleagues in New York and other power centers around the world, as well as with partner and allies, to advocate for a better humanitarian system and effective responses to humanitarian crises. This includes ensuring that humanitarian responses to the biggest disasters and conflicts around the world better meet the different needs of women, men, girls and boys, particularly through ensuring affected women and women’s groups fully participate in the design and delivery of humanitarian assistance.
