The seventh session of the Open-ended Working Group of the Basel Convention (OEWG 7) will be held at the Geneva International Conference Centre (GICC) from 10 to 14 May 2010.
The briefing focused on the Seventh session of the Open-ended Working Group of the Basel Convention (OEWG 7) that will be held in Geneva from 10 to 14 May 2010 and the “Indonesian-Swiss Country-led Initiative” (CLI).
OEWG mandate is to assist the Conference of the Parties in developing and keeping under continuous review the implementation of the Convention’s work plan, specific operational policies and decisions taken by the Conference of the Parties for the implementation of the Convention.
An update on the Indonesian-Swiss Country Led Initiative (CLI) to improve the effectiveness of the Basel Convention was provided by the representatives of Indonesia and Switzerland. The documents developed within this Initiative are available on the Basel Convention website.
