Quaker United Nations Office (QUNO), and the Center for International Environmental Law (CIEL), is organising a meeting/event for HAC delegates to discuss trade measures ahead of INC2 of the Treaty to end plastic pollution.

About this Briefing

The objective is to inform HAC Members in the context of the Plastic Treaty discussions. The agenda of the meeting will include (i) an overview of how previous Multilateral Environmental Agreements have addressed international trade, and key takeaways for the plastics treaty; (ii) data and research available on trade and plastic pollution; (iii) key elements that UNEP identified regarding trade measures for the plastics treaty.

Registration

The event is limited to State delegates and will take place on 24 January 2023, between 4-6pm CET, followed by a dinner starting at 7:15pm with delegates that are in Geneva.
