Organisation: Geneva Environment Network

Six months from the Paris Climate Summit, learn more about the current state of scientific knowledge relevant to climate change.

The IPCC Fifth Assessment Report (AR5) provides a clear view of the current state of scientific knowledge relevant to climate change. It comprises three Working Group (WG) reports and a Synthesis Report (SYR).

The Synthesis Report distils and integrates the findings of the three Working Group contributions to AR5. Written by over 800 scientists from 80 countries, and assessing over 30,000 scientific papers, AR5 tells policymakers what the scientific community knows about the scientific basis of climate change, its impacts and future risks, and options for adaptation and mitigation.

The Geneva Environment Network Secretariat organized with the IPCC Secretariat a presentation of the the AR5 Synthesis Report, taking place within the framework, at the Graduate Institute (Maison de la Paix), on Tuesday 2 June.

The video of the event is available online.
