Biovision was founded in 1998 by Swiss alternative Nobel Prize (Right Livelihood Award) recipient Dr. Hans Rudolf Herren, to promote agroecological solutions and innovations in accordance with nature as a way of fighting poverty and improving food security in Africa. It expanded its activities to advocacy with policymakers at international, regional and national level, sharing knowledge and tools for a transition to a more sustainable food system.

Biovision is promoting the implementation of Agenda 2030 at international level and in Switzerland, networking and fostering dialogue with stakeholders from the politics, science, the private sectors and civil society. In Switzerland Biovision is organizing educational activities to raise awareness among the population, young people in particular, about the effect of our consumer behaviors on human, animal and environmental health and sharing tips to encourage sustainable consumption.
