Nous dépendons d'écosystèmes en bonne santé et productifs pour répondre à nos besoins de base. Toutedois la perte de biodiversité et la dégradation des écosystèmes devraient se poursuivre et même s'accélérer. Les efforts de conservation et de protection de la nature, ainsi que la gestion durable des écosystèmes sont essentiels à la prospérité des humains.
