Sustainable Food for a Sustainable Future

From supply chains to our plates, what we eat has a big impact on the planet’s resources. Presented by CNBC International TV, this reportage takes a look at how nature-based solutions can help us eat healthier for a better planet.

According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), to be sustainable, agriculture must meet the needs of present and future generations, while ensuring profitability, environmental health, and social and economic equity. Sustainable food and agriculture contributes to all four pillars of food security – availability, access, utilization and stability – and the dimensions of sustainability (environmental, social and economic). Promoting sustainable food and agriculture also helps countries worldwide achieve Zero Hunger and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
