Call for projects under the Basel Convention

The Basel Convention regularly provides funding for various projects under its several Partnerships. This page list relevant information and application deadlines for calls for pilot projects on e-waste and plastics.
Call for projects on E-waste
The Partnership to the Partnership for Action on Computing Equipment of the Basel Convention implements pilot projects to promote innovative solutions for the ESM of end-of-life computing equipment and mobile phones, including sound alternatives to open-pit burning of e-waste and harmful recycling operations, at the local, national and regional levels. The pilot projects also aim to test the ESM Guidelines produced by both MPPI, PACE as well as technical guidelines on e-waste under the Basel Convention.
The call for new project proposals is open until 20 February 2020.
Call for projects on plastics
The Basel Convention Partnership on Plastic Waste (PWP) implements pilot projects to improve and promote the environmentally sound management (ESM) of plastic waste and to prevent and minimize its generation. The last call for proposal closed on 24 September 2020.
