The Right Livelihood Award 2022 is now open for nominations with a deadline of 2 March. The Award recognises the actions of brave visionaries and builds impactful connections around the world, boosting urgent and long-term social change.

Right Livelihood Award

Right Livelihood is a courage-powered community for social change. Established in 1980, it is committed to peace, justice and sustainability for all.

The Right Livelihood Award is presented each year. By recognising the actions of brave visionaries and building impactful connections around the world, the Award boosts urgent and long-term social change. 186 Laureates from 73 countries have received the distinction to date.

“This Award for me is a victory of the victims over their perpetrators and also a sign of courage to continue our work, because the hope of being able to achieve the restoration of rights is a road that is long, but it is possible.” – Marthe Wandou, Cameroon, 2021 Laureate

In 2015, the Right Livelihood Award established an Office in Geneva. Every year, the Geneva Environment Network seeks to engage with the awardees on environmental issues.
