Duarte Bué Alves is the Consul General of Portugal in Manchester.

Duarte Bué Alves is the Consul General of Portugal in Manchester and has been the Deputy Permanent Representative of Portugal at the OECD for more than twenty years. He is a Portuguese diplomat since 1999, having been posted in Luanda, Brussels and Tokyo (2004-2011). He was Head of Cabinet and Diplomatic Adviser of the Minister of Agriculture and Sea (2011-2015). He also is the Head of Unit for Transnational Threats (2016-2017).

He authored various books (“Diplomacia Azul – o Mar na Política externa portuguesa) and several articles and essays in Portuguese and international magazines and journals.
