Katherine Theotocatos is the Head of the Special Programme on Institutional Strengthening of the Chemicals Cluster at UNEP's Chemicals and Health Branch.

Katherine Theotocatos is the Head of the Special Programme on Institutional Strengthening of the Chemicals Cluster at UNEP’s Chemicals and Health Branch. Prior to joining the branch, Katherine was since October 2016 a Programme Officer (Compliance) at the Ozone Secretariat in Nairobi.

After working in the private sector and government, Katherine moved into the international arena in 2000. She has several years of experience as a legal officer within the UN Secretariat (UN Habitat in Kosovo, UN Register of Damage in Vienna, and most recently UN Environment in Nairobi) and has also worked with other international organizations including the International Organization for Migration and The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, both based in Geneva. Over the years, Katherine has developed considerable experience in the management of legal processes and stakeholder engagement.

Katherine holds degrees in commerce and law and was admitted to the roll of attorneys in South Africa in 1994.
