Lien Vandamme is a Senior Campaigner for Climate & Energy Program at the Center for International Environmental Law's (CIEL) office in Geneva.

Biography

Lien Vandamme is a Senior Campaigner for Climate & Energy Program at the Center for International Environmental Law’s (CIEL) office in Geneva. She co-facilitates the Human Rights and Climate Change Working Group, convening civil society organizations advocating for the promotion and respect of human rights in climate action. Her work focuses on the UN climate change regime and the implementation of the Paris Agreement. In her early career, Lien worked as a policy officer on climate and natural resources for 11.11.11, the Belgian coalition of international solidarity. In that capacity, she executed advocacy campaigns targeting governments and international institutions, coordinated the political work of the Belgian Climate Coalition, and was a member of the Belgian delegation to the UNFCCC from COP21 to COP25.

Lien holds an MSc in Comparative and International Politics from the University of Leuven and an MSc in Climate Studies from Wageningen University. During these studies, she specialized in international climate politics and interned and worked for various NGOs.
