Nick Weatherill is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Better Cotton.

Nick Weatherill is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Better Cotton, the world’s largest cotton sustainability initiative. Based in Geneva, Switzerland, he joined the organisation in June 2025 with a strong record of promoting sustainability and human rights in global supply chains.

Before joining Better Cotton, Nick led the International Cocoa Initiative for more than a decade, driving growth and scaling social impact across the sector. Under his leadership, the organisation’s revenue grew by 500%, corporate membership increased by 450%, and due diligence activities across West Africa’s cocoa sector scaled up to cover 25% of the supply chain.

Earlier in his career, Nick spent almost 20 years developing policy, defining strategies and managing programmes for humanitarian and social development organisations, from the UK Government’s Department for International Development to Medical Emergency Relief International. Notably, Nick also spent a number of years at the European Commission, during which time he was stationed in Tanzania and Ethiopia to directly support the delivery of emergency humanitarian aid following crises and conflicts.

Nick is an English Language and Literature graduate from the University of Oxford and has a master’s degree in Social Policy & Planning from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
