The International Emissions Trading Association (IETA) is a non-profit business organization created in June 1999 to establish an international framework for trading in greenhouse gas emission reductions. Our membership includes leading international companies from across the carbon trading cycle.
The mission of the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA) is to empower business to engage in climate action, advancing the objectives of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Agreement as informed by IPCC science, and to establish effective market-based trading systems for greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and removals that are environmentally robust, fair, open, efficient, accountable and consistent across national boundaries.
