Abuse of Article 11 to escape the Basel Convention’s Plastics Amendments | BRS COPs 2023 Side Event

This side event to the the 2023 meetings of the Conferences of the Parties to the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions is organized by the Center for International Environmental Law (CIEL) and Basel Action Network (BAN), which will present three cases of Parties to the Basel Convention, including the EU, Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland, Mexico and Canada, all misusing Article 11 of the Basel Convention to avoid adopting and implementing the new Plastic Waste Amendments.
