High-Level Briefing on the 2026 United Nations Water Conference
The Permanent Mission of the United Arab Emirates in Geneva will hold a high-level briefing on the 2026 United Nations Water Conference, on Monday, 14 September 2026, at Palais des Nations (Room V) from 13:15 to 14:30. The briefing will be delivered by H.E. Abdulla Balalaa, UAE Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Energy and Sustainability.
With fewer than 100 days remaining until the Conference, co-hosted by the United Arab Emirates and Senegal in Abu Dhabi from 8 to 10 December 2026, the briefing will provide an opportunity to hear updates on preparations and exchange views on the road ahead. The Conference represents an important opportunity to mobilize collective action, strengthen international cooperation and accelerate progress towards achieving Sustainable Development Goal 6.
The Programme will include:
- Welcoming remarks by UN-Water
- Briefing by H.E. Abdulla Balalaa, UAE Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Energy and Sustainability
- Interactive discussion with member states and organizations.
