The Race To Zero Dialogues, from 9 to 19 November, are critical inputs to the UNFCCC Climate Dialogues taking place from 23 November to 4 December, to accelerate progress to meet the Paris Agreement. Together, both Dialogues will set the stage for the Anniversary of the Paris Agreement on 12 December as the world embarks on the ‘Race to Zero’ towards COP26 in 2021.

  • Nature’s Place in the Race: Collective Action for Forest-Positive Commodity Supply Chains | World Economic Forum (WEF) -Tropical Forest Alliance (TFA) | 14:15-15:15 CET
    How to advance sustainable soft commodity production systems, through reduction of tropical deforestation while assuring food security and economic development: a dialogue with producer country and demand-side governments, companies, the financial sector and civil society.
  • Nature’s Place in the Race: Landscapes in Action | United Nations Programme on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (UNREDD) | 15:30-16:30 CET
    Linking ambitious aspirations – from NDCs to accountability and financing for nature – with concrete actions to move towards nature-positive recovery: dialogue with private sector, civil society and government.
  • Nature’s Place in the Race Closing Session: A Call to Action | World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) | 19:15-20:15 CET
    Concluding session to present concrete actions and outputs from the day that will create roadmap for a nature-positive recovery towards COP26.

  • Net zero targets: what practical frameworks can banks and investors use? | Science Based Targets Initiative (STBi) /World Resources Institute (WRI) and the Principles for Responsible Banking (convened by UNEP FI) | 09:35-10:25 CET
    This practical session will highlight the rationale for target-setting and the new SBTi framework that asset owners, asset managers and banks can use to set net zero targets.
  • Financing a Resilient Future: How and Why to Close Adaptation Financing Gaps | Zurich Flood Resilience Alliance, and the Principles for Sustainable Insurance (convened by UNEP FI) | 12:45-13:35 CET
    This session will focus on financing climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction, highlighting effective interventions and expanding existing partnerships.
