This side event to the 57th session of the Human Rights Council (HRC57), organized by the Core Group on the Mandate of the UN Special Rapporteur on climate change and human rights, will provide an opportunity to further reflect on the findings of the first thematic report of the UN Special Rapporteur, which was presented in July at the HRC, and discuss follow-up actions by the Rapporteur in collaboration with other actors on intersectionality in the context of climate change and human rights.
About the Event
This side event to the 57th session of the Human Rights Council (HRC57) will provide an opportunity to further reflect on the findings of the first thematic report of the UN Special Rapporteur on Climate Change and Human Rights, which was presented in July at the HRC, and discuss follow-up actions by the Rapporteur in collaboration with other actors on intersectionality in the context of climate change and human rights.
The event will also provide an opportunity for participants to reflect on the Interactive Dialogue on the report, and in particular the questions that were raised in that context and their contributions to the future activities of the UN Special Rapporteur, to support policy coherence and increased international cooperation, by completing and adding value to the climate activities of other UN agencies and processes.
