On the occasion of World Refugee Day, this side event to the 62nd session of the Human Rights Council highlighted the voices of those uprooted in the context of climate change - and explore how their human rights can be more fully upheld.

About this Event

During the 62nd Session of the Human Rights Council, on 24 June, Caritas Internationalis, JRS, ICMC and the Forum of Catholic Inspired NGOs are joining forces in a side event to elevate the moral urgency of protecting the human dignity and rights of communities being  displaced in the context of climate change.

75 years after the 1951 Refugee Convention, forced displacement has taken on new dimensions. On the occasion of World Refugee Day, we highlight the voice of those uprooted in the context of climate change – and explore how their human rights can be more fully upheld.
