Sofie H. Flensborg is the Chief of the Legal Unit of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
Sofie H. Flensborg is the Chief of the Legal Unit of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). Throughout her career, Sofie has focused on aspects related to environmental policy, trade and sustainable development. Her previous positions at CITES include Chief of the Governing Bodies Unit, Officer in Charge of the Outreach and Projects Unit, and Legal Advisor. Before working at CITES, she had positions as Manager for Strategic Partnerships with the International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development (ICTSD), attaché with the Permanent Mission of Denmark to the United Nations and the WTO, and Programme Officer with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) in Geneva.
A Danish citizen, Sofie studied International and European Law at KU Leuven before completing a Master in Law from the University of Copenhagen.
