Venue: Campus Biotech

Organization: 2050Today, Mexico, Geneva Environment Network, Diplomatic Club of Geneva

This event, organized in collaboration with the Permanent Mission of Mexico to the United Nations in Geneva – recipient of last year’s 2050Today Engagement Award – the Geneva Environment Network and the Diplomatic Club of Geneva, aims to share this experience as a replicable model, while fostering a broader exchange on how institutions across International Geneva can operationalize sustainability commitments in their internal practices.

About this Event

As the climate crisis intensifies, international institutions are increasingly called upon not only to advance ambitious policies, but also to demonstrate coherence between commitments and operational practices. In this context, International Geneva – home to a dense ecosystem of multilateral, humanitarian and scientific actors – has a unique responsibility to lead by example.

While significant progress has been made in advancing climate ambition at the global level, a persistent gap remains between high-level commitments and their practical implementation within institutions. Bridging this gap requires concrete, accessible and replicable solutions that translate climate objectives into everyday workplace practices.

The event will consist of an expert panel discussion, the 2050Today Awards ceremony, followed by a Low-Carbon Mexican Cocktail Reception reflecting the principles of sustainable workplace practices.
