The convening of thought leaders at the Eye on Earth Summit 2011 in Abu Dhabi addressed the issue of access to data and information to support informed decision making on environmental sustainability. The subsequent convergence of information networks and collaboration among the Eye on Earth Community has advanced the agenda through a number of initiatives and projects. To facilitate the sharing of environmental, societal and economic data and information, provided by the diversity of knowledge communities, to support sustainable development.
Purpose of briefing
To update members of the Geneva Environment Network and Permanent Representatives to UNOG on the Eye on Earth initiative and progress made to date on establishing the
Eye on Erath Alliance/Network and preparations for the Eye on Earth Summit 2015.
