The Dow Live Earth Run for Water took place on 18 April 18 2010 and consisted of a series of 6 km run/walks (the average distance many women and children walk every day to secure water) taking place over the course of 24 hours in countries around the world, featuring concerts and water education activities aimed at igniting a tipping point to help solve the water crisis.

The municipality of Vernier (service of sports and information and communications office) in association with the United Nations Environment Programme and the Geneva Environment Network organizes April 18th, 2010 a “popular walking for the water “, at the edge of the Rhône.

This event ” Live Earth ” will be besides organized in numerous cities in the world the same day (see www.liveearth.org).

Participating are will be invited to walk approximately 6 kilometers, that is the distance crossed by numerous women in the world daily to fetch some water.
