Mathis Wackernagel is the co-creator of the Ecological Footprint and President of Global Footprint Network, an international sustainability think-tank based in Oakland (California), Geneva and Brussels. Global Footprint Network works to end ecological overshoot by making ecological limits central to decision making, using Ecological Footprint accounting.  It aims at influencing major investments and policy shifts with strategic stakeholders to support global sustainability one nation at the time. Global Footprint Network has worked closely with its partner organizations, many of which have a presence in Geneva as well – WWF, WBCSD, UNEP. Mathis is eager to engage with representatives of Geneva based organization to briefly explain its strategy, but then far more importantly, explore with all participants opportunities for accelerating each others work.
